We each shared a part in the many re-draws of this concept. You could call our process a very intense pass and draw from start to finish.

This past weekend, me and four of my closest pals (We call ourselves Mt. jK) got the opportunity to try something new and paint a mural for @plazawalls Mural Expo.
While there's many endearing things I could say about this experience, I will break it down to the main points.
We are humbled and so grateful to have been a part of this wonderful yearly event. @okmurals sees something in this Native land and the folx who inhabit it. Come hell or high water, they bring out the best in our arts community whilst sharing the things that make OKC what it truly is. Weird, rugid and creative. 🌻
Thank you to everyone who supported us along the way and believed in us at times when we may not have. Check out our 22-foot mural in the @plazadistrict for the next year, along with MANY other absolutely stellar murals by artists from all over the country. After the year, the walls will be painted and this beautiful happening will occur again.

🌟🌟 For those wanting to see the weird way I paint with watercolors, this is a process video of my latest figure painting 'fever dream'. I and my pals have lovingly termed it the 'scrub method'. I smash the paint brush into the paper and make amalgamations of color to create a color map. I begin laying figural detail on top of my color map and then I repeat that until somehow I make a figure painting 🌟🌟

Local folks can catch it, before it goes to its permanant home in Cali, at @plazawalls gallery for a while for their Mural Expo show that includes some STELLAR work from muralists from all over the country. 🌱

While I've been away I've moved back home to Oklahoma City, gotten married to one rad human being and took a trip to the wonderous island of St. Lucia. Swipe to see pics!

I'm here again, ready to jump full force back into the beautiful Oklahoma Arts Communities!

COVID has made things really hard. One of those things is trying to connect with students and teach them painting through a computer screen. I just want to take a moment to celebrate and congratulate the work of the wonderful and creative group of students I had the pleasure to teach this semester. They constantly inspired me and charged me back up with their ideas and positive energy throughout this wild fucking time. Let me also point out that all but one of these students were not even art majors! Many of them picked up a paint brush for the first time this semester. I could not be more proud and humbled by their talent, creativity and drive these past few months. I wanted to share a few of the many wonderful things that were created in our class. To the class, you all rock and have such bright futures ahead of you, I can see it already! Thanks for making my last semester of teaching something to cherish.
